Ah I just don't like the vertical bars. I think it is the correct way of displaying it but I just don't like those bars. :)

Do you mean the column separators? You can change that by either toggling them off by using the right mouse button menu or (more permanently) setting the x5250*columnseparators resource to False in your resource file (/usr/local/share/x5250/X5250 probably).
