For this job the AS400 is setup to write direct, not thru the spooler.(I don't know much about the AS400 side) .tn5250rc looks like: careceipt { host=192.168.1.11 env.DEVNAME=careceipt env.IBMMFRTYPMDL=*IBM42013 } The command line is: lp5250d trace=/tmp/tra outputcommand="cat >/tmp/out" careceipt No output to /tmp/out ( or to a printer if I cat to device or spool thru lpr) /tmp/tra follows. Note that close to end there seems to be a print complete record but no last in chain record.
