Hi Erik, newer xterm (form xfree 4.0.3 and above) has freetype support which let you use trutype fonts with xft which renders nice antialiased fonts. To use this features you need to have freetype2 lib and you need to compile X with freetype support (btw, every distro do this now), after that you have to invoke xterm using -fa [trutype font name] and not -fn [x font name or alias] e.g. : xterm -fa 'Andale Mono'. I don't know how to specify this in .Xresources, since this feature is not very well documented atm. The DECCOLM escape seq to swich between 80 and 132 mode works in freetype mode, since it resize the term windows, but it doesn't change the font. Also in ft mode, the vt fonts menu doesn't work (well., it works, but it does nothing), please see my other posts in this thread.
