Hmmm..   Do you mean the ASCII newline character, 0x0a?  Or do you mean
the 5250 newline key?     And, what was it that you expected it to send?

Assuming that you're running 0.16.2 or later of tn5250, you should
be able to set your font to anything that you want using the font_80 and
font_132 keywords in your config file.

Example:

example1 {
    host = as400.example.com
    env.DEVNAME = DSP01
    font_80=9x15
    font_80=fixed
}
