Thanks a lot for getting this done.  I'd given this a go myself after
you committed all the changes to the 0.16 branch, but "make dist"
failed, possibly related to my having the latest and greatest versions
of the all the development packages installed.

There are a couple of little things:

 - The architecture in the SourceForge files list should be "Any",
   since this is a source code release.

 - The versions of config.guess and config.sub are quite old, and
   don't support some of the architectures in Debian, so I'll have to
   replace them in the Debian source package.  The current versions
   should have timestamps of at least 2001-08-02 at the top.
