Hi Mike, Yes, your changes did fix the problem. Thank you. The "normal" installation procedure (autogen.sh, configure, make, make install) works fine under FreeBSD... We talked a month or two ago about setting up the installation procedure to install the FreeBSD keyboard mapping under FreeBSD and the Linux keyboard mapping under Linux. Perhaps I should work on that again...
