You can get fake underlining on the console with -u.

The documentation is lagging a little behind the code at this
point.  Depending on what kind of printer you are using, you need to add
the appropriate host printer transform object:

lp5250d -m 37 -S PEDIAP01PR -H "*HP4" -P "scs2ascii | lpr" as4
