Latest developments (still cross-posted):

I've got TN5250j installed at my desktop.

Earlier today, I had my emulator and TN5250j running parallel sessions to the same customer box. My emulator was losing the connection right-and-left; I couldn't even *make* TN5250j lose the connection.

I mentioned setting the timeout on the socket. Finally comparing my code to the docs, I see that once the connection has been established and tested, the timeout on it is set to *forever.*

The data stream trace I spent an hour analyzing earlier today showed only the incoming data stream; I later found a long-forgotten function for including the outgoing data stream in the trace; unfortunately, when I tried using that as well, both of the customer boxes that were dropping me right-and-left were behaving themselves (regardless of whether I was capturing the data stream).

Does anybody around here either (a) know his or her way around the TN5250j source, (b) know Herr Kirst, or any of the other TN5250j deveopers, or (c) both?
