I really suspect network glitch. It's rare, like once a month.

The app is on a Linux or AIX box.

The db connection target is IBM i.

Whenever I see that type of message it means that the connection has been
lost or cut off. Are you running on the IBM i directly via Java or running
on a different machine connecting to the IBM i remotely.

I've seen network or ethernet issues cause this type of error.
