I got this to work, but the value generated by the class displays on the
screen.

I want the value returned back to the calling CL program.

Is this possible?

If not how can I get the value generated by the class back into my CL
program?

At the most basic level, you can override stdout to a physical file and then read that.

Does the class have a published API? You might be able to write a prototype to call methods in the class from an RPG program and return the values to a CL.
