Steve,

Thanks for the quick reply.

Unfortunately I don't have option 8 installed, or any of the other new JDKs
that get installed in /QOpenSys. I only have the classics 1.3, 1.4 and 1.5.

That's why I'm wondering if I can use my V7.1 DVD's to install the new JDK's
while I'm at V5R4. Or do I need to obtain the new options some other way.

Kendall

They are referring to using/testing your existing Java apps with the J2SE
5.0 32 bit java, which is license option 8. In V7R1 Java 5.0 (classic) is
not longer an option. This needs to be done on while your machine is still
V5R4. Adding the environment variables at the *SYS level is one way to get
the Java app to run with the 32 bit java.

Steve
