You guys are correct. The user that makes the connection needs no authority to the user profiles to use authenticate(user, password). And Walden is correct, you can screw up any user profile you care to. You'd need to have authority to get a list of them, I think. Otherwise you could use Walden's ploy to disable every user profile on the system.
