Dan,

Are you sure about "You first have to establish a
connection using a userid and password that has authority to all the
user profiles."

I don't see anything in the Java Docs about such a requirement, nor
does it make sense IMHO.

Subject: Checking the validity of AS400 login details

Hi List,

I am very happy to meet you all today. I need some suggestion and advice
from for the following query.

I am using JT400.jar package to get JDBC connectivity using java
programming.  I have a small application which is using Java/html
languages with LOGIN SCREEN. Now, I need to validate the AS400 user ID
and password to enter into the application. As per our internal
discussions with tour team, we thought that all the entities in AS400
can be treated as an object. So, we need to get the user profile
document in the AS400 as an object and validate them, using JT400.jar.
For your information, the userid/pwd of AS400 users are not stored on
database. We need to validate from the profile file of AS400.

Can you please suggest us, whether this can be done or not and is it
possible to get the user profile object from Java.

Regards,
G. V. Suresh Gupta
