Hi.

I am investigating doing some Java logging more native to the AS/400 than the usual stuff-text-in-IFS-files.

I found a presentation by Bruce Vining about how to use PEX logging and transactions, which looks just right, but also appears to be invoking the MI "TESTPDC" instruction to figure out if PEX is active or not.

How would I do this from Java? Should I ask for a small program to be written returning this value, and then just call it or is there a better way to do it?
