Not to mention that the jpg/png version is likely to be much smaller
than the TIFF, saving on bandwidth. HOWEVER... TIFFs can be multi=page
(one of their few redeeming traits) so you need to handle that if you
have multi-page TIFFs. JPG/PNG cannot be multi-page so you need an image
per page. If these are frequently accessed TIFFs I'd consider caching
the conversion results so you don't have to reconvert each time, after
all disk is cheap. :-)
