Glad to hear that RMI isn't a pipe dream. =)Apparently option 10 is classic 6 which should respect the java.version variable. I do not know why not and I don't have access to a machine with Java 6 on it. It is just my experience that silent failures may have many reasons and that missing installations is one of the more frequent.
Sure enough, when I run java PropDump, it's successful, but when I run it
with -Djava.version=1.6, it fails silently. (This is true for DumpProp as
well.) I went through GO LICPGM to verify that the JDK was installed, and
it looks like it is:
5722JV1 *INSTALLED Java Developer Kit
This same line shows product release = V5R4, product option = 10.
