How did you setup the socket?

I've never seen that error either.
There is nothing special about this code - the AS400 object is obtained with a "new AS400()" - and it has been running in production for over a year.

I have asked if they were happening to do naughty sysadm-things to the server at that time, but I would be a bit surprised if they did.
