OK - rather general questions:

Has anybody used the iSeries Access Programmers Toolkit GUI Builder to
build
applications which interact with an iSeries? What is your experience?

importantly, can you share code?

I have had a look at the GUI Bilder and it looks pretty good. I would
like
to build a test application and I want to know if it is a dead-end
before I
start.

I am particularly interested in seeing a working example using PCML (and
the
code :-) ). I am thinking of building a test application to see how it
useful it could be.

Is there a resource anywhere where we can find ready-built chunks? I
mean,
there's no point in rewriting a panel which displays my home directory
files, or a panel displaying my spooled files, or a panel displaying my
messages, etc, if they already exist.

I see these apps can be used as applets, etc. Can they be used as WDSCi
plug-ins too?

If there isn't a repository of code would you guys be happy to share
your
code? We could put al of the examples on the wiki. Things like java code
creating a connection to an iSeries, setting library lists, PCML calls,
using service programs, using JDBC, using ready-built code provided by
IBM.
The whole shooting match really.

If this is a dead-end then its a shame because between all the guys on
this
list we (well, you) could probably provide each other with enough useful
bits that we could build a decent application framework for a iSeries
rich
client. I would certainly take what is there and add to it.

Your thoughts on this matter are most welcome.
