Aaron, It is a customer decision. We very often find that customers initially want to run WebSphere because that's what they hear about. Customers with hardware that is a little older (low CPW, memory) find performance on the iSeries is not good and running Tomcat on Windows or Linux is much faster. I suspect with WebSphere being bundled with i5 and if they can get usability to match Tomcat, most may go with WebSphere. We also often see people reluctant to put their i5 directly on the web for security concerns. We have stuck to a development strategy where we use standard Java apis (such as connection pooling, etc) which allows us to run equally on Tomcat or WebSphere. -Paul Holm
