Keith, Do you have a specific reason for using Java from within RPG (remote queue manager, or JMS messages) to connect to Websphere MQ... since coding directly to the MQ API's from RPG is quite simple and beats Java do dead as far as performance is concerned. Kind regards, Paul ----- Oorspronkelijk bericht ----- Van: McCully, Keith (RBS Insurance) [mailto:Keith.McCully@xxxxxxxxx] Verzonden: woensdag, augustus 9, 2006 06:08 PM Aan: ''Java Programming on and around the iSeries / AS400'' Onderwerp: RE: Differences between calling Java from Qshell and RPG? Barbara, Now that I can view the error trace, the exception is: javax.jms.JMSException: MQJMS2005: failed to create MQQueueManager for 'RD037AA'. RD037AA is the correct Queue Manager name. The relevent code is: // Create MQ connection factory = new MQConnectionFactory(); factory.setQueueManager(queueManager); destination = new MQQueue(queue); connection = factory.createConnection(); This works fine and sends the MQ message when called from Qshell but fails when the same set of classes is called, using the same constructor, from RPG on attempting to create the connection. I am using the same interactive session for both call types so my profile/environment variables are unchanged, the java.version is the same (1.3) and os.version=V5R3M0. What exception? If that class has any version-specific methods, it could be a JRE version problem. You might have to explicitly specify the java.version property. By the way, when you use ACTGRP('test'), you won't be able to reclaim the activation group since it has lower-case letters. -- This is the Java Programming on and around the iSeries / AS400 (JAVA400-L) mailing list To post a message email: JAVA400-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/java400-l or email: JAVA400-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/java400-l.
