I am having problems accessing a java class once it is in a .jar file. I
have researched the issue thoroughly and haven't been able to figure it out.

I compile the class on my pc. I copy the class file to my directory in the
IFS. On the iSeries, I set the CLASPATH. Go into qshell. I type "javap –s
HelloRob" and I get the class signature for HelloRob—just to verify that I
can "see" the program.

Next, I put the class into a .jar file and add that to the IFS directory. I
restart my iSeries job, re-add the CLASSPATH variable including the .jar
file and go back into to Qshell. Now when I do the "javap –s HelloRob"
command I get a "ERROR: Could not find HelloRob".

I am working on a larger, more complex RPG calling java scenario, but I
could get that to work so I am trying to get a simpler process to work
first. I figured that I need to make sure that I can access the class
within the .jar before I can call it from RPG.

Thanks for any help you can provide.
