I have a Java app that connects to a MS SQL Server using JDBC. It reads the requests from a data queue and writes the result set to a second data queue. This has been working for some time. I received a call this morning from a user saying that it crashed with an error (see below). A quick check revealed that the SQL Server had been changed. The server went from "//ip address\\beforename" to "//ip address\\aftername". I changed the program that writes to the data queue but it still kept returning the same error. The server admin recreated the old server and the program worked. I have debugged the Java app and I know that it is using the new server. Does the iSeries do some type connection sharing where it keeps using the same (wrong) connection? com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: Cannot open user default database.
