Remote debug on AS/400 launch configuration for Eclipse?

I have been assigned to write a plain Java program to run under AS/400 and I would like to know if there is a launch configuration for eclipse that allows to deploy and start debugging on OS/400 transparently from XP.
Currently I am hand carrying the files to a share, and switching to a AS/400 session where I start the java program from QSH, and then switch back to eclipse to attach the debugger. 

Can this be automated?
(Regarding whether WebSphere Developer Studio Client for iSeries would be available already to us, our tech guy is currently ill and cannot answer. I also like Eclipse 3 better than Eclipse 2).
