Ron, Perhaps it would help if you sketch out what you are trying to do, and what you are using to try to do it. You specified that you are dealing with record locks -- do you want to lock a record or do you want to deal with a record being locked? Are you using ToolBox classes, JDBC, stored procedures, etc?
