When we want to run Java from RPG, we typically use the getJniEnv method to start up the JVM. The second run is faster since getJniEnv retreives the existing JVM that was already started. The problem is what to do if there are two different Java applications that use mutually exclusive classpaths. The first Java program is run in a new JVM that was started up by getJniEnv with the correct classpath. When RPG attempts to run the second Java program on the existing JVM (which now has the 'wrong' classpath) it bombs on a classNotFound error. If startJVM was used instead of getJniEnv, the JVM would be recreated each time the second Java program runs- this would ruin performance. Is there a way to create two JVMs- each only once, and then retrieve the correct one for a particular Java program?
