Sounds like you might have to write your own :( I wrote one in RPG -- but you could do the same in Java. You can use the toolkit to retrieve the system values (model, serial number) and an API if you would like to retrieve the processor type... Then create an algorithm to create a license key -- read a file from their local drive and compare the values -- then you would have the license check that is unique to their 400. -----Original Message----- From: java400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:java400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Simon Coulter Sent: Thursday, July 14, 2005 9:48 AM To: Java Programming on and around the iSeries / AS400 Subject: Re: Java-based license managers On 14/07/2005, at 2:11 AM, James H H Lampert wrote: > Anybody got any familiarity with Java-based, platform-independent > license managers? Why not create a very thin host component containing only a product library, product definition, and product load objects? Then you can call the OS/400 licensing APIs from Java via the Remote Command Host Server to verify or acquire a licence.
