Error[SQL0802] Error de conversión o de correlación de datos.

Hi:
Recently i change a column in a DB2's table using alter table.
The column contain character[1] values. I change size to 2 character,
but myapplication get a error message "ERROR [SQL0802]" when try to
insert a value with 2 characters. I use a PreparedStament sentence for
this action over a JT400JDBCConnection.
My OS version is V5R3M0.
What happens??. need restart my iSeries???.
