Executing a series of related steps

Folks:

I've got a technique question ...

I'm writing a program that needs to execute a series of related steps on
the iSeries.

I want to put all these steps into a single class, as they are all
related (and use common information).

I also need to report progress, messages, and errors, via a GUI for each
of these steps.

This program runs on a PC and executes a series of commands on the iSeries.

FWIW: I'm writing the GUI app in WDSC.

Any suggestions on the best way to accomplish this?
