Hi Andres, Just a note to second Ashish's suggestion. We have something similar that requires possible action on an insert. We use an RPG trigger to post to a message queue and a batch Java program handles it from there. If you use a trigger, do the least amount of processing possible in it or performance can suffer. There are several benefits, but two are: You don't have to mess with or suffer the issues with calling Java from RPG ( in fact, the language doesn't matter so long as it can communicate with a message queue; others use data queues for the same sort of thing ) and your RPG ( or initiating ) program can continue on with its processing without waiting for the Java program to return. > > But, what it´s the best to way to comunicate both > > databases? other > > posibility? There are XA drivers that can be used with the Java Transaction API to deal with two-phase commits among multiple databases ( and similar tools for other languages ), but they tend to get both expensive and complicated. If you have that need, they are great, but otherwise handling as above is usually Good Enough.
