chad,

have you got cookies turned off. I thought url rewriting was only used to
maintain the session if cookies were not available (I think that how it
works in websphere anyway, not sure about tomcat)

cheers

Subject: Tomcat jsessionid?

I am currently working on an application that passes parameters (via link)
to another application running on Tomcat. The application running on Tomcat
uses struts with several date picker links. The problem is that when I
click on the link passing the appropriate parameters to the action
(.do?parm1=&parm2= etc) the jsessionid is added to the end of java script
function for the date picker. Below is the code for the date picker and the
source from the page that shows the jsessionid at end. When the jsessionid
is added, the link will not work. I get a java script error.

Jsp page:

<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0">

<tr>

                      <td nowrap="nowrap">&nbsp;<html:text
property="appointmentDate" size="10" maxlength="10"
tabindex="2"></html:text></td>

                      <td>&nbsp;<html:link
href="javascript:show_calendar('appointmentForm.appointmentDate')"
onmouseover="window.status='Date Picker';return true;"
onmouseout="window.status='';return true;" tabindex="3">

                        <html:img alt="calendar"
src="theme/show-calendar.gif" width="24" height="22" align="middle"
border="0"/>

                              </html:link>

                      </td>

                      <td class="normalRed">*(Required) MM/DD/YYYY</td>

                    </tr>

                  </table>

Viewed Source for IE:

<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0">

                    <tr>

                      <td nowrap="nowrap">&nbsp;<input type="text"
name="appointmentDate" maxlength="10" size="10" tabindex="2"
value="2005-02-03"></td>

                      <td>

                        &nbsp;<a
href="javascript:show_calendar('appointmentForm.appointmentDate');jsessionid
=A89B7AE2C8E1161D05914772B223A1FB" tabindex="3"
onmouseover="window.status='Date Picker';return true"
onmouseout="window.status='';return true"><img
src="theme/show-calendar.gif;jsessionid=A89B7AE2C8E1161D05914772B223A1FB"
height="22" width="24" align="middle" border="0" alt="calendar"></a>

                      </td>

                      <td class="normalRed">*(Required) MM/DD/YYYY</td>

                    </tr>

                  </table>

Does anyone know how the sessionid can be removed?

Thanks,

Chad
