I'm just taking a wild guess, but I should think that if you can get an
OPM or ILE program to accept the standard trigger parameters execute your
class, then you can make it work as a trigger.

Then again, there may be a way (presumably not in any OS/400 version I
have direct access to, since our highest revision level is V4R5) to
directly trigger a Java class. There are, after all, a number of other
enhancements to triggering that came in somewhere in the V5 releases (the
most notable being a switch from one trigger per slot to [at least
potentially] triggers up the kazoo).
