Thanks. <thunderous and sincere applause>

At times, I've been the one asking the "baby question." Especially when
Toolbox classes are involved. (And in areas where people are trying to
develop proprietary interfaces between Java clients and ILE servers, I may
be one of the people ANSWERING some esoteric question.)

Remember: this ain't ADVANCED-TOOLBOX-L. It's JAVA400-L. As in ANYTHING
involving Java ON a 400, or CONNECTING to a 400, whether through the
Toolbox, or through industry-standard servers like Telnet or FTP, or
through proprietary interfaces of their own design.

Speaking of FTP, to repeat (and rephrase) a question that got me nothing
useful before, does anybody know (and care to share knowledge of) how to
write a client for the OS/400 secured FTP server? (And NO, SSH file
transfer doesn't have anything to do with Secured FTP, any more than SSH
terminal mode has anything to do with Secured TN5250! If anything, Secured
and SSH FTP have even less to do with each other than Secured and SSH
Telnet!)
