Passing a data structure as a byte array

All I want to do is pass a data structure as a byte array.  I'll use the
JTOpen routines to get the date in and out of the structure.  But I'm
braindead; I can't figure out how to define a byte array.

 

I have a data structure in my program, IBDS1.  I want to pass this to
the following class/method:

 

class Test

void runTest(byte[] ds)

 

It's not clear to me how to define the byte[] parameter in the
prototype.
