Something to look into, if you haven't already, is the Java Group PTF.
Basically, whether or not you have it installed. There have been many
problems fixed over the years involving native code and other Java
issues that the group PTF fixes. I am not saying it will definitely fix
that problem, but if you were to call IBM support they would probably
ask you if you have that installed yet, and if you didn't, tell you to.

You might also post your code if you can.

Here is all the info on the group PTF's:

Subject: FATAL ERROR using RUNJVA...

Hi:

I am running a Java PGM using the RUNJVA command. Using the *VERBOSE
option, I can see the following errors:

Loading class java/security/BasicPermissionCollection.class from
/QIBM/ProdData/Java400/jdk13/lib/rt.jar
Loading class java/lang/VerifyError.class from
/QIBM/ProdData/Java400/jdk13/lib/rt.jar
Loading class java/beans/PropertyVetoException.class from
/QIBM/ProdData/Java400/jdk13/lib/rt.jar
FATAL ERROR in native method: Received NULL object reference
Java program completed with exit code 134

This error occurs before PGM execution as I can not run the PGM in DEBUG

as I get the same error when I first attempt to step into the code.

Any ideas on what is happening and where I can find what an exit code
134
is?

Thanks

Mike Burdette
