I prefer to use a high quality IDE, then use the publish function to put them on the AS/400. Depending on the Operating System, you do then want optimize them using CRTJVAPGM. This is not the same as compiling. Working in QSHELL is the equivalent of working in notepad. I like WebSphere Studio Application Developer.
