You did it yourself:

Not "as nice"?  Who cares?  It works.  Try writing an entire operating
system in assembly language, then come back and tell me how "not nice"
RPG is.  Heck, trying writing an ERP system using 6-character field
names!

Sheesh.  Not "as nice".
