We use SQL via our Java programs (JDBC). I have been running the Client Access "Detailed SQL Performance Monitor" option. Generally, after collecting data for some period of time, I check these two reports: 1) Index Advised Information - look at the "Advised Index Keys" column and create these indexes. 2) Index Create Information - look at the columns "Created Index Keys" and "Index Advised Key Columns" Regarding #1, do you agree with me that this is a good practice? Regarding #2, I am confused at what the system is telling me. If it had to create the index in the "Created Index Keys" column, why wouldn't I just want to create those indexes permanently? And why do the values in "Index Advised Key Columns" differ so wildly from the actually created index? I am not sure what to do with this data. Is there any other key indicator in the detailed data you think I should be focusing on? Thanks, Larry _______________________________________________ No banners. No pop-ups. No kidding.
