We have written a few SQLRPGLE programs that return result sets for stored procedures for result sets that are too complicated to create using simple SQL statements. We simply do all the data manipulation needed in the RPG section and move the data needed for the result set into a multioccurrence data structure. This ends up being the only SQL in the program. C/exec sql C+ SET RESULT SETS ARRAY :RS FOR :X ROWS C/end-exec RS is the name of the data structure and X is the number of valid occurrences. My question is, if a problem happens in the RPG area of the code how would you suggest communicating to the Java program that calls the stored procedure that a problem has occurred in the RPG section of the code. What the problem is isn't important right now, just how to communicate that one has occurred. Thanks. John. John C.
