Great suggestion! Thank you. I thought I would have to destroy the JVM to 
handle garbage collection. Of course, the JVM would then need to be re-started 
for the next method call.
 
Assuming I'm not going to call any more Java methods in the current job, would 
destroying the JVM still be a viable alternative to explicitly cleaning up 
objects?

Richard, don't forget to clean up your objects. Until fairly recently I
thought it was necessary to code explicit frees for every object, but
there's a way to free many objects at once.
