The nice thing about Add Method in VAJ was the capability to use a GUI to identify access modifiers and other attributes such as static and synchronized. You could also add parameters and exceptions using a lookup, which is less useful to me, but I'm sure was nice for some folks. > For example you could add a customized JavaDoc comment for the public method. However, I couldn't see a way to automatically add the parameters and the return type the way that VAJ did, which is I think is part of what Dan was asking for. > IMHO templates are better for this than a full blown wizard because: > > a. You don't have to start a full GUI wizard (quicker once you > get used to > them) > b. They are customizable and you can easily add your own. It depends on how intelligent you need them to be. For simple coding tasks, I agree that code macros (templates) are nice, but for more complex tasks such as selecting between different modifiers and including or not including attributes a wizard is a little more functional. For this particular task, I think it might be nice to have both. But like I said to Dan, someone who really needs that functionality could probably build their own - that would seem like a really nifty project for someone wanting to learn plug-ins. Joe
