Thank you all for the help. It looks like that both MessageFile and QMHRTVM api can get a message from a message file, given a message ID. In my case I only know the message file name and I wish to list all available messages of this file programmatically. Is this possible? (A awkward way of doing this is to DSPMSGD *PRINT then query the generated spooled file. I hope there are better ways) Thanks ----- Original Message ----- From: "Donald Whittaker" <donald_whittaker@xxxxxxxxx> To: "Java Programming on and around the iSeries / AS400" <java400-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, March 12, 2003 10:48 AM Subject: Re: Query *MSGF programmatically? > There is a ToolBox class, MessageFile, for this. > >From a native program, I would use the RTVMSG command > or the QMHRTVM API. > > Hope that helps, > Don > > > > --- Bruce Jin <JIN007M@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > > Can one query an AS400 message file (*MSGF) > > programmatically using: > > > > > > > > 1..
