Anyone know if it's possible to configure a JDBC connection to DB2400 so that, if a table has an exclusive lock, the database server will wait for a certain amount of time before returning a "Table in use" error (SQL0901)?

I want to place an exclusive lock on a table while I alter it ... and I want any other connections that attempt to access it to wait for a little while before returning the error.

Basically, I want to do the same as the OVRDBF WAITFILE parameter does.

Thanks!

david
