[ Converted text/html to text/plain ] Mun, I'm just getting into sockets programming myself, but it's pretty cool. If you are an RPG guy, I would check out Scott Klement's tutorial on sockets. You can find it at http://klement.dstorm.net/rpg/socktut/index.html[1] If you're a java guy, I'm sure there are good tutorials on sockets programming in Java out on the web. If I were doing this, I'd set up a sockets client program on my 400 and a server program on my PC that is listening for connections from the 400's client. I would have the server program on the PC take in the data passed from the 400 and use it to call your Java program on the PC, and then return data from the PC to the 400. There are probably easier ways, but I don't really know of any. If the PC is running Client Access, isn't there a way to use RUNRMTCMD to call programs on a PC? My objective is to build communication between PC based Java program and 400 based java program. Both the 400 and pc are in LAN and the 400 is accesed thru CA express. The 400 job needs to call the Java pgm in user's PC and get the results (clinic related software). Any ideas pls ?TIA,Mun meovino@estes-express.com wrote:Will it listen on a socket or can it be called by a socket server programon the PC listening for a connection from the 400?Mike E."Mun' jeera"m> cc:Sent by: Subject: Java program Communication !java400-l-admin@midrange.com08/28/2002 04:48PMPlease respond tojava400-l--[ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ]hello group,I've a java program on PC and can be called with parms.
