David, I had similar problems with null pointer exceptions. I applied the latest JV1 group PTF's to fix a problem with the *ADMIN webserver and it seemed to take care of this as well. People on the ignite400 list who were able to run the Java/RPG that I could not all told me that they were up-to-date on JV1 group PTF's. Mike E. I'm trying to call a simple java method from RPG, but keep getting exceptions. My java method is defined as such ... D data s O class(*java:'Storage') D manipulator S O class(*java:'Manipulator') D setString1 pr extproc(*java:'Manipulator': D 'setString1') D string1 128A const varying ... and it's called like this ... C eval manipulator = newManipulator C eval data = newStorage(manipulator) C eval str1 = '12345' C callp setString1(manipulator:str1) The call to newManipulator and newStorage work fine, but when I call setString1, I get a null pointer exception. On a similar note, anyone know how to debug a java method that is called from RPG? I tried to compile the java with a -g switch, and use F22 to step into the method, but it didn't work.
