The run() method of CommandCall and ProgramCall is synchronous. When you call run(), that Java thread is held while the iSeries command/program runs. Control is returned to the Java thread when the iSeries command/program completes. The iSeries job does not die, but it should go idle waiting for the next request from the client. To end the job you need to end the comm link using AS400.disconnectService(AS400.COMMAND).
