Hi I recommend you to read Java and WebSphere Performance on iSeries Servers Redbook (SG24-6256-00). Chapter 2 The Java Execution Environment on iSeries has a really good explanation in what you want to now. It is available on ibm.com/redbooks. Or a bit more specific, 1. Does DB/2 have one JVM in which all stored procedures are running? 2. Where would you measure if you wanted to monitor how much memory is used by the a Java stored procedures or how much CPU is used? 3. Where does the memory get allocated if you write a C++ stored procedure? 4. If you have a C++ stored procedure that "leaks" memory where would it leak? So if you do not de-allocate memory that you allocated with new would DB/2 force a release of some kind?
