Sushama -- You might want to check the Apache documentation at the http://jakarta.apache.org/tomcat/index.html . How are you trying to deploy your servlets? Are they in a .war file (recommended) or are they loose classes not in a .war? Why can't you change the web.xml file? That's what the configuration button does.
