sql statement

hi,

i got a simple problem and i think i sometime in the past knew the answer, but 
currently i don't.
i want to do a simple query via jdbc on a file on the as400.

now what i a qualified name for a file? do i have to put it the IFS-way: 
mylib.LIB and myfile.FILE  ???
because i always get the error message:

ERROR: [SQL5016] Qualifizierter Objektname PAEUMS nicht gultig.

in english it would be:
qualified object name PAEUMS not valid.

PAEUMS is my file (and it is really there).

so some help would be appreciated.
