Mike,

Do you have a main in your class that is properly defined? If you do
change:

java /home/MSILVERS/testME1

to

java testME1

A side point is that class names usually start with a capital letter.

I am trying to run a class. I have the class in the classpath and
every
time I try to run the class, I get a class not found exception thrown.
This
is aggravating! Any ideas??

...

And here is the java command with the error:

----------
> java /home/msilvers/testMe1
  java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError

Mike
