Joe, Thanks for clarifying the areas that present challenges. On the function key part, I was able to identify the key pressed by registering an event handler for the document and pulling out the key pressed attributes but I couldn't find a way to make it work for function keys, only regular keys, <ctrl>, <alt>, and shift.
